My Path to Chiropractic

After receiving my degree, I pursued a career in corporate sales. Seven years later, being on the road led to a severe low back condition with 3 bulging discs with sciatica shooting into my feet. I was on bed rest for over a month, and felt no relief from prescription pills. Frustrated and unable to move, walk – let alone live a happy life- I went to a chiropractor. While addressing other life matters and adjusting my spine, I was able to be up and walking within one week. Over two years, through a series of chiropractic adjustments, massage, and acupuncture, I was able to rehabilitate and maintain a healthy, pain-free back.

Dr. Shelby L. Woodbury

Dr. Shelby L. Woodbury received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA. She quickly found interest in Applied Kinesiology and has taken over 200 extracurricular hours studying this technique. Her chiropractic focuses include nutrition and functional movement to allow the body to move and work at its best.

Dr. Shelby was born and raised in Southeast Louisiana. She attended LSU to major in Kinesiology-Human Movement with a minor in Sports Studies. She is a mighty fan of all LSU athletics, but has a special love for baseball after serving as an LSU Bat Girl. During her summer breaks, Shelby combined her love for sports and the younger generation by coaching tennis and gymnastics for elementary kids. Now, her favorite hobby is spending time with her husband, whom she met while taking a practical exam at Life University. In her spare time, you can find her powerlifting at the gym, baking tasty (but healthy) treats, or cheering on her favorite teams.

My Path to Chiropractic

I have wanted to work in dentistry my entire life. Coming out of high school, I worked as a dental assistant. I started to notice pain shooting down my arm and into my hand that worsened even more when I started college. After a series of testing, the neurologist suggested chiropractic as the problem was stemming from my neck. I did, and I haven’t looked back since.

Tori Tucker, LMBT

Massage Therapist

Tori Tucker is a licensed massage therapist, NCLMBT #15100. She graduated in 2015 from the College of Wilmington. She chose massage therapy as a career because she had received a massage therapy session when I was a young teen and loved it. From that day forward, I knew that massage therapy was the path I wanted to take. I’m excited to be able to help clients with the skills and knowledge I have acquired from the many continuing education courses I have taken. Some of these courses include, oncology, sports, frozen shoulder and medical massage.
